The Monek app is now available on the App Store, free for every Monek merchant. It is the companion to the Monek Portal, built for the moments when you are not sitting at a desk: checking what the day has taken, finding a transaction a customer is querying, seeing whether a payout has landed, or sending a payment link from a customer's kitchen. Sign in with Face ID, and no card details are ever entered in the app.

What you can do from your phone

The app covers the things merchants told us they actually reach for on the move, rather than trying to squeeze the entire desktop dashboard onto a 6-inch screen:

  • Yesterday and today, side by side: the home screen opens on both trading days at once — takings, transaction count, refunds and the amount refunded — so you know where you stand against yesterday before you have put your coat down.
  • Transaction search and detail: search the full list, then open a transaction for the customer, channel, operator, payment method, both references, and the 3-D Secure and security-check results. Enough to settle a customer query on the spot.
  • Settlements and payouts: track what has settled and what is on its way, including daily breakdowns, so reconciling against the bank does not have to wait.
  • Statements as PDF or CSV: switch between daily and monthly views with gross takings and fees broken out, then download a PDF for your records or a CSV for your accountant.
  • Pay by Link, with scheduling: set a name, amount and reference, choose whether to copy the link, email it or text it, and pick how long it stays valid — one hour, 24 hours or seven days. Send it straight away or schedule it for later.
  • Push notifications: find out about account activity as it happens instead of the following morning.
  • Multiple organisations: if you manage more than one merchant organisation, switch between them without signing out.

Pay by Link, from wherever the job is

The feature we expect trades and mobile businesses to use most is Pay by Link. Finish the job, open the app, set the customer's name, the amount and a reference, then choose how it goes out: copy the link, email it, or send it by SMS. Pick how long it stays live — one hour, 24 hours or seven days — and either send it there and then or schedule it for later, which is handy for deposit reminders and for invoices you would rather landed on Monday morning than at 9pm on Sunday. The customer pays on a hosted PCI DSS Level 1 checkout page with 3-D Secure 2, and the funds settle to your UK bank the next working day on Monek's standard tariff. There is no per-link fee, and no card number is entered anywhere on your side — not on the phone, not in the app, not in a notebook in the van. Security was the starting point, not an afterthought

A finance app that lives in your pocket has to earn its place, so the security model is deliberately conservative. Sign-in uses Face ID or Touch ID on top of the multi-factor authentication already on your Monek account. Your session is stored in the device Keychain, protected by the hardware secure enclave, rather than in ordinary app storage. And card data is never entered, processed or stored in the app at all — which means a lost or stolen phone is a device problem, not a payments incident. Behind it sits the same FCA-authorised Monek platform (FRN 920628) as the Portal, so nothing about your account's regulatory or settlement position changes because you installed it.

Getting started, and what is next

If you are already a Monek merchant there is nothing to sign up for. Download the app, sign in with your existing Monek Portal credentials and multi-factor authentication, then turn on Face ID and push notifications. It is a 3.2 MB download, free, with no in-app purchases. The app runs on iPhone with iOS 18.0 or later, iPad with iPadOS 18.0 or later, Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 15.0 or later, and Apple Vision on visionOS 2.0 or later.
