A major release ships to the Monek Portal this month with three headline features, all built from direct feedback during the autumn pilot programme: a full Virtual Terminal for MOTO payments, real-time tracking on Pay by Link, and advanced refund handling.
Virtual Terminal
The new Virtual Terminal lets any authorised user on a Monek merchant account take a card payment from inside the Portal — no physical card machine required. It's designed for phone orders, mail orders, deposits, and back-office collections, with full 3-D Secure 2 support and saved-card tokenisation for repeat customers.
Pay by Link, with tracking
Pay by Link already lets merchants send a one-time payment URL to a customer via email or SMS. The update adds real-time tracking: you can see when the customer opened the link, when they entered card details, and when the payment captured — useful for chasing slow payers and for spotting checkout abandonment.
Advanced refunds
Refunds can now be issued for full or partial amounts directly from the original transaction row. Partial refunds are tracked against the original sale, so if a customer eventually claims a chargeback the remaining balance is correctly attributed. A confirmation step requires manager approval for refunds over a configurable threshold.
Availability
All three features are live now for every UK Monek merchant at no additional cost. Find them under the new Transactions, Payments, and Refunds tabs in the Portal.
